The newbies are here!
Well, last night after about 8pm, all of the new people started to slowly trickle into the JCMU building. Hung out with a few of them for a while in the TV room and in the lobby/balcony, though most of them were too exhausted/jet lagged to utter coherent sentences. It was just nice to finally LEAVE MY ROOM and find other humans wandering around the building again. Everyone started chatting and hanging out in the TV room (which wasn’t too cold today), and watched the movie Wedding Crashers. It turned out to be a lot better than I had expected, and we all had a good time. ![]()
Today, my roommate moved in. Her name is Kayoko, and she lives in the Saitama region, which is pretty close to Tokyo. Her English is ok, better than my Japanese, but communicating is a little difficult between us. I haven’t had a chance to chat with her too much, this morning was spent mostly going to meetings and then she had some homework to do, and right now she is unpacking all of her boxes that she sent from her home. When she’s done or gets hungry, we’re gonna be going over to Coco’s to have dinner and to chat, since she doesn’t have any food for herself in the room yet.
I have a placement test for my Japanese class tomorrow at 9:45am. I haven’t studied for it and I really don’t care….I don’t see why I should have to take a placement test after spending 4 months in Level 2 and getting a B in it…..
