Its now 2006 here in Japan. The year of the dog (inu). The clock striking midnight isn’t apparently a big deal in Japan, since I was only able to find two television stations that were actually showing a countdown, and neither of them did anything spectacular right at midnight. I miss Dick Clark and the ball drop!!!

Tomorrow (well, later today) I’m thinking about going to Ise Shrine, the most sacred Shinto shrine in Japan. I’m sure there will be no less than 7 million people there, but it might be kinda fun anyway since thats the traditional thing to do for the new year. We’ll see what time I actually get up tomorrow…..might be too tired after all this partying I’m doing. Ha ha….:(
